Because in her heart, she knows Viserys doesn’t have what it takes.

Yes and no. There were also schools of thought that said that bad kings could be resisted in the name of God, because God was above kings.

The Iron Bank does a good deal of business in Westeros, and the Free Cities are not that far away from Westeros.

I don’t think it would be an immediate threat, but more of a long-term issue in terms of their ability to grow in that market.

How important do you consider scaped slaves for Braavosi economy? I mean, slaves that now how to produce Myrish glass or other goods other cities are famous for, or even normal workers, going to Braavos for freedom should be important in the years after the century of blood.

Well, initially when the city was being founded, absolutely vital.

Nowadays, I think it’s too irregular to be that important.

Have you read Feast and Dance combined? I’ve seen a few different ones out there with slight(some not so slight) differences in the chapter ordering. Was wondering if you recommended one over another.

What would have happened if Robert had killed Rhaegar at the Trident, but then died of his wounds on his way to Kings Landing? Lets say he doesn’t go until Eddard finds Jaime on the Iron Throne. Would Stannis be made King even though he’s currently under siege and Robert never sat the throne? Or would the rebels need to think of something entirely different?

No, they’d go with Stannis. The same logic that put Robert there puts Stannis there – second cousin to the surviving royals, next in line by blood once Viserys dies.

In the hypothetical Golden Bank of Lannisport scenario, wouldn’t the Iron Bank see it as a threat and try to sabotage it some how?

They probably would – the Rogare bank got too big and the Iron Bank brought them down. But Lannisport is a long way away. Much harder to project force and influence there.

A Bank of Lannister would probably have to import Braavosi accountants, no? Suppose those accountants demanded as their price for repatriating to the Rock: eligibility to marry into the Lannister family (because secondary world fantasy about those Medicis is big in Braavos, don’t you know). Do you think Tywin would have accepted on those terms? Would Cersei?

The Westerosi have some form of accounting, so maybe not. I have to say I think the Lannisters would probably deal with it through industrial espionage instead of marriage.

Yes. He says something to Tyrion to the effect that, without the children Elia is not a threat and that he gave no order to kill Elia, just the children.
