Depends on Edmure’s age at the time – there’s a pretty wide range for Edmure’s birth date, and it’s quite possible he was only eight years old at the time. Remember, Edmure’s the youngest of the Tully kids.

Who is Lord Beric’s heir as ruler of Blackhaven?
Unclear. We don’t know if he has any kin.
How competent Beric Dondarrion was, when Ned send him after Gregor? Marcher Lords are supposed to be good, but in AFfC Strongboar describes him very dismissively as “slight and callow”, do you think a better/more experienced commander wouldn’t have fallen for Lannister trap?
Strongboar’s kind of a dick who thinks everyone sucks compared to him, so I wouldn’t necessarily go by that. If you look at Beric Dondarrion’s record as a field commander, he does a hell of a lot of damage to the Lannisters with very few men, although he is somewhat reckless with his own life once he realizes that he’s immortal.
Also, I think Strongboar’s a bit pissed off that Beric killed his uncle.
In a lot of your hypotheticals around the Battle of the Blackwater, the result seems to be ‘All Hail King Stannis’. But, even if Stannis had won the battle and seized King’s Landing, isn’t it likely that Varys would have had him killed, Kevan-style, to make room for Aegon?
Varys isn’t omnipotent, so it very much depends whether he gets an opportunity. It’s quite possible that Varys gets killed in the taking of the city, or the fighting disrupts his network, or the Red Keep burns to the ground, etc.

Race for the Iron Throne Kickstarter

So, after many delays, the big announcement that I’ve been talking about since the spring is finally here: the Race for the Iron Throne Kickstarter is live! The purpose of this Kickstarter is to raise money so that I can devote more of my time to writing about A Song of Ice and Fire, and specifically to enable me to jump-start several projects I’ve been talking about for a while: “Kings, Hands,…
Chapter-by-Chapter Analysis: Catelyn VI, ACOK
Of the five post-ADWD contenders for the Iron Throne, whom do you favour? (“none” is also a valid answer.)
Team Smallfolk 4 life, son.
QUOTE: “Brienne had a lot of suitors” but what about right now in the narrative? She no less the heiress of Tarth compared to before.
Because she’s systematically and publicly beat the hell out of all of her suitors, and is publicly known best as a kingslayer.
Do you find Brienne’s lack of suitors believable? I know she’s not pretty and she involves herself in ”manly pursuits” but Tarth should surely make it easy for a suitor to overlook all of that. There must be plenty of second third etc sons who’d jump at the chance marrying her and being a Lord on Tarth. Even if she’s very unconventional it seems very weird to me that Tarth isn’t enough to make sons with nothing overlook it all even in a ragingly misogynistic world like Westeros.
Brienne had a lot of suitors, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
In regards to the Roose Bolton betrayal question by buffyboleyn: Roose also recommended that Robert kill Barristan way back during Robert’s Rebellion, when that was such an obviously bad move for Robert’s new regime. Could he have been trying to undermine Ned’s and Robert’s power even back then?
Probably not. I think that’s just how he rolls.
