Any idea why nobody ever tried to explore the Lands of Always Winter on dragonback? Alyssane took her dragon to the Wall, but we never hear anything of mapping the unmapped lands beyond, or even just venturing out there. No danger from wildlings, you could turn around as soon as your dragon got tired, you wouldn’t get cold, and you have fire without fuel if you need to land.
