Thank you for posting Captain America’s heroic thesis statement against Thanos. I’d always considered it to be the defining moment of his character. What do you think the odds are that he’ll say something similar in the movie considering he appears to face the Rogue Titan mano a mano if the latest trailer can be taken at face value?
High.
In a society where most people can’t read, wouldn’t the Hoares’ authority be undermined by the pronounciation of their own name? People would make jokes about the Whore Kings all the time, right?
Maybe? It might be one of those things like tough guys wearing pink shirts, daring anyone to say anything.
The discussions about the French kings made me wonder: was there any risk during the French Wars of Religion that France would have spiraled down into political fracturing and loss of royal authority as happened in the Holy Roman Empire?
Quite possibly. Given the frequency of assassination attempts against pretty much every political figure, the dug-in conflict between the Huguenots and the Catholic League and the Politiques in the middle, very little needed to change to set the whole place ablaze.
Henry IV refusing to convert or not surviving any of the twelve attempts on his life would be a main one, given his central role in picking up the pieces.
How would you pronounce House Hoare?
Like the oldest profession.
“But how would pre serum steve beat hydra cap? that’s… literally impossible” “Steve Rogers didn’t need the serum to become a hero, he always was a hero.” “Any theories as to how Steve is holding off Thanos in the new trailer? Even baseline Thanos should be too much for him, strength wise let alone Thanos with the Power Stone.” So, Good always finds a way? (probably should be a ! not a ?)

Don’t you think that The Greens had more reasons( de jure e de facto) that the Blacks!?
They both suck. Team Smallfolk 4 Life.
how common was it to use boar hunting as cover for a political assassination?
See here.
Given that Lem and Anguy were both familiar with Tom’s “Floppy Fish” song, would it be fair to say that, far from only singing it once, Tom has been singing the praises of Edmure’s whisky dick for many years now? This would make Edmure’s dislike of Tom seem rather less petty.
Yeah, pretty much.
Any thoughts on the Dragon Knight series and its historicity?
Haven’t read them.
