How do you think the Manderlys won the title of Defender of the Dispossessed ? It seems that the ultimate defender of the dispossessed in any of the Kingdoms would be the Lord Paramount; so how did a vassal house end up claiming the title?

Oh, the Manderlys absolutely gave themselves that title as a middle finger (heh) to the Gardeners as a way of protesting their own dispossession.
