What exactly would a princely bastard (boy or girl) be expected to get from a loving father? Like Duncan had kids by Jeyne but married his Baratheon bride. Could the children ever be brought to court in some capacity?

Indeed, they could often be quite powerful noblemen due to their closeness to the sovereign: Henry Fitzroy, son of Henry VIII, was one of the richest landowners of his time thanks to his father’s largesse.
