What is your view on Hoover and the Great Depression? I’ve seen some say he caused many of the problems and some say many of FDR ideas come from him.

I wrote about it here. The short version is that I have no truck with those who argue that Hoover was like FDR (either to try to redeem Hoover or to condemn FDR). 

And as far as I know, no serious scholar thinks Hoover caused the Great Depression, merely that his actions, his inactions (more important), and his vetoes really didn’t help or made things worse.
