I’m confused about how marriage pacts, alliances and the unions themselves are recognized when they occur in the North/Iron Islands. How does the crown verify/justify these marriages when they don’t involve the Faith? Also, how does it work when A Northern Lord/Ironborn Lord marries a Lady from a Westerosi family that follows the Faith, as not all of them would be keen to allow Septons into their lives as Ned Stark did? Thanks in advance.

The Crown is supposed to protect the Faith, it doesn’t have to pretend the other ones don’t exist.
