On the last episode, what is the Watsonian reason for one wight remaining when the rest crumbled after Jon killed the White Walker? Is the Night’s King making sure each group has one wight in each group that remains if the lead White Walker gets so that he can see what happened through that wights eyes?

That’s better than nothing, I guess.
