Is the land between the firths a good “neck” equivalent? – isn’t that the Central belt? (highest population density in scotland) What would you say to the fens – pre-drainage it was basically all marsh, and the locals are stereotyped with webbed toes and incest (which sounds like things the freys would/have yell/ed at the crannogs)
