I’m interested in historical navies, but finding it hard to find resources. Do you have any recommendations for someone starting with zero information on the topic?

I’m surprised that you’re having trouble, given how much naval history there is out there. It may be that you need to refine your search a bit to get better results. Which period and/or navy were you interested in?
