I’ve just finished reading the Dunk & Egg stories at long last, and want your input on a few things: 1) Lord Butterwell apparently agreed to give up his dragon egg and marry a soiled Frey girl just to host a tourney that would bring Blackfyre supporters out of hiding. That seems thin to me. What else do you think was in for him to motivate him to do all this and risk so much — a juicy carrot, or a giant stick? 2) Bloodraven’s men all have these kickass weirwood longbows and apparently went

to the wall with him when he was exiled by King Egg later on. What happened to the longbows?? Jon Snow never mentions them, and just because Bloodraven himself vanished into the woods, his men should have stayed at the Wall and died there, leaving their kickass weapons behind for future rangers, right? 3) Do you ever plan to analyze these books as you’re doing with the CXC analysis of the main books?

1. I think Butterwell probably was promised the position as Daemon II’s Hand of the King. 

2. I think the Raven’s Teeth served their time on the Wall and then died. Don’t know what happened to the weirwood bows. Then again, we don’t know what weirwood does as a weapon.

3. Yes, that was one of the rewards unlocked in the Kickstarter. I’ve done a bunch of prep work, but I’m going to finish ACOK before I start writing.
