During Blackwater week you highlighted how Melisandra (assuming she wasn’t boasting/bluffing) could have affected/controlled the Wildfire if she was present; how do you think such a miracle would have affected the Sparrow movement etc? Obviously a Stannis victory at KL (even a temporary one assuming a reconquest by Tywin/Tyrells) has a huge effect on the politics of the city but how do the refugees/proto-sparrows arriving in the city react to a populace who’ve been exposed to a genuine R’holloric miracle?
Hard to say – in no small part, because the smallfolk of the city probably couldn’t witness the feat themselves. Stannis’ army certainly would have been deeply affected as a near-death experience tends to do, and they would have told stories to the smallfolk. How widely they would have been believed is another matter.
So I could see a situation in which you have a religious conflict between the true believers and those they’ve converted and the Sparrow Movement.
