Well, the majority of the smallfolk would have been there either as retainers or as sellswords, and I think both bent the knee.
In Tyrion’s last aDwD chapter, Kem says that he fled King’s Landing because he feared being sent to The Wall. We know that didn’t happen, but what did Tywin do with Stannis’s forces that didn’t manage to escape, especially those of the smallfolk who weren’t lucky enough to have a lord to serve as a retainer to?
