You once said you would rank Visenya as one of the top queens. My question are you referring to just Visenya during Aegon’s reign or during her entire reign as Queen (both Consort and Dowager).
Because she does well during Aegon’s reign, subduing the Eyrie without bloodshed, along with the lords of Crackclaw Point, creating the Kingsguard, looking after the construction of the Red Keep, etc. However, after Aegon’s reign, she kills the king and basically starts an intra-house civil war in the middle of a rebellion.
True, but let’s not forget that she killed the king who provoked the rebellion and had lost the capitol through incompetence and lack of willpower. Maegor did many awful things, but he maintained the Targaryen dynasty as the military hegemon of Westeros. Without that, there is no monarchy.
So no, I think Visenya is one of the top queens, period.
