About a month ago, you described a strategy for how Robb could’ve held the Riverlands as a part of his kingdom. You mentioned “good communication, delegation to local royal officials, the development of consensus-establishing bodies, and personal progresses by the king”. My question: what about giving northern lords some lands in the south, and vice versa? I imagine that would make it very difficult for any possible separatist movement.

That gets a bit tricky, because that could do the reverse as well. In any feudal system, everything is owned by someone, so giving a Northman lands in the South means taking it away from a Riverlander and vice versa.

If you’re going to do this, I would do it through dynastic marriages, because then both sides feel like they’re getting something in return for what they’re giving up.
