Well, that was technically part of the whole liberate Harrenhal thing, so he might skate that way. But I doubt the Faceless Men are forbidden from self-defense, rather from supernumerary assassinations.
After doing some intense RFTIT tumblr stalking, I came across a question about the Faceless Men and Hardhome. Your answer mentioned that Faceless Men don’t kill anybody who’s name hasn’t been prayed for. Where do you think that leaves Jaqen H’ghar after the guards he kills at Harrenhal when threatened with his own death? Or does he dodge this bullet by “killing” Jaqen and becoming Probably-Pate?
