I’ve often found the North confusing in terms of the military power of the vassal Houses & Mountain Clans. This is partly due to the seemingly equal sizes of Houses Bolton, Karstark and Manderly. Any chance of a quick ranking or breakdown? No one house is seemingly big enough to dominate without the support of at least two others.

The text points to House Kastark having the smallest number at 2,300 men and House Bolton having ~4,000 men. House Manderly is a bit more vague but seems stronger than the Boltons – we know they sent 1,500 men south but that afterwards “even with the losses I have suffered, I still command more heavy horse than any other lord north of the Neck.”
