Why do you think the Targ forces outnumber Robert’s at the Trident? It seems that Robert should have more men since nearly all the Vale, most of the Riverlands, and some Northmen and Stormlanders are present while Rhaegar only has men from the Crownlands and Dorne, both of which are small regions population wise.
