Next Post This might be a dumb question, but how do lords make money? A proper lord, with a castle and lands, that makes sense to me. The crops from the land are are sold and then those sales are taxed and brought to the castle overseeing the land. Same for hunting rights to woods or fishing to rivers and such. But House Connington become landed knights after RR, owning only the castle and some grounds around it. Catle upkeep is expensive, so how did they make money? Can a lord go broke? What can he do?
