Hi. With regard to the Essosi rural and urban populations I think that the Roman Empire’s urban population was approx 10% overall and 25% within Italy. I think your free city estimate of 15-20 million is pretty credible so that would put the overall free cities’ population anywhere between 60-200 million; do you think that seems viable?

Maybe? I dunno, so much is confusing in Essosi demography. For one thing, I really don’t get how the Disputed Lands can be a ruin and the cities exist. Even the pre-modern city-states that imported a lot of grain still needed local supplies.
