In the early books, we are told how Stannis’ inflexibility would make him a terrible king. However, (as you point out in wordpress) Stannis is perfectly willing to compromise etc when realpoitik requires it. Do you think Stannis’ character changes under-pressure post-Got or do you think his ‘difficult’ nature is just used as an excuse by ambitious schemers etc?
