I recently read your Westerlands economic development post and saw that you mentioned the Hornvale-Red Fork canal would cut down the time from the Westerlands to King’s Landing from 3 months to 5 days. However, I looked at different maps and I haven’t seen a place where the Red Fork connects to the Blackwater. Did you mean most of the distance would be traveled by water before finishing the trip overland, or something else?

I did a rough estimate of the distance you’re travelling via water from Hornvale to Red Fork to the Trident to the Bay of Crabs to King’s Landing and then compared that distance to the distance via land travel, and then land vs. sea travel speeds.
