Asshai doesn’t make any damn sense: Magical radiation killing any agriculture or livestock near it, that same radiation (at least, in rumour) poisoning or cursing their main exports of raw precious metals, the fantastic amount of slaves they’d have to go through to be able to run institutions of religion or for higher learning and the damn size of the place would make for all sorts of poor logistics. How do you see the city run in a sustainable way?
