1) Y’all, I didn’t realize how many people here had not heard about the MRA “boycott” of Mad Max: Fury Road. It is KIND OF AMAZING. Turns out, the movie is actually about Charlize Theron badassing women to safety in an post-apocalyptic etc. etc., and they are PISSED.

2) Coincidentally, it’s a “masterpiece” at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and everyone who’s managed to peel themselves out of the theater reports that their faces were rocked off. 

3) Everything about it on my Twitter timeline today has been gold. I am now collecting things on Storify (actual links to the reviews and articles are there).

4) I’M GOING TO SEE IT TOMORROW AND I WILL REPORT BACK

Can’t wait to see this film. Also, what I find bizarre about the MRAs fetishizing the original films is that they have some of the thickest gay subtext of any action film I’ve ever seen – even more so than Top Gun.
