I kind wish instead of Beron Stark fighting the ironborn, he died in the battle against Raymun Redbeard (an event that actually mentioned by Jon in ASOIAF proper) since Kings-Beyond-The-Wall are a rarer event. It’s related to the events of ASOIAF proper (I guess that ironborn invading the North is as well). Don’t know how Artos the Implacable fits into the She-Wolves ruling Winterfell, but more interested in that especially neat for a Southerner like Dunk’s take on a wildling uprising.

It would be kind of cool, but the timelines don’t quite work for what GRRM wants to do. Dunk and Egg’s visit is supposed to be around 212-213 AC, when Beron is dying and Artos and Willam are probably pre-teens and Egg is around the same age (interestingly, this’ll be the first time that Egg’s spent time with his peers in a long time).

By 226 AC, when Raymun shows up for his appointment with destiny at Long Lake, Egg’s grown up, he’s gotten married, he’s starting to have kids, and he’s on the verge of becoming king. That’s a very different story.
