I just want to toss this in and see if it helps in the Ashara + Ned/Brandon debate. Given that Ashara is of a Dornish house, doesn’t that mean the norms and customs of her family are significantly more flexible in terms of pre-marital intercourse? It frees Ashara from being treated ill or disabused by her family for her actions of lust and passion, and it softened Ned’s approach to the affair as it wouldn’t dishonor her house. Look at Arriane, her honor’s intact despite her position.

That is something that comes up in debates over this, especially on westeros.org. Ser Barristan’s conception of dishonored is very different from what Ashara Dayne’s would have been.
