You’ve written about hostage/fostering re Theon Greyjoy to keep his father in line, but what about Baelor Blacktyde? His father died in the Greyjoy rebellion, so he was actually a lord (albeit a child lord) at the time of his being taken to Oldtown. Was that a thing in actual history? And, given that Baelor converted to The Seven and appears to have taken more mainland values, do you think that the foster family can become attached to their hostage? Enough to be angry that Euron had him killed?
