I hope so. I don’t think the Shavepate faked the assassination or the Sons of the Harpy or anything like that. I think that Yunkai et al. are going to lose big in the Battle of Fire, which probably means the new Ruling Council stays in power.
Regarding that ongoing Slaver’s Bay discussion–one thing that leaped out to me at least was the extent to which what I like to call the “Grand Shavepate Conspiracy” theory seems to have poisoned perspectives. The people going on about ‘nihilism’ seem to take it as a given that we’ve just watched the REAL bad guy triumph for the moment. Do you suspect (as I do) that these people are in for a surprise when ‘Winds of Winter’ comes out?
