Is Aurane Waters the smartest character in the entire series? He manipulates Cersei, but never threatens anyone else. When Cersei gets in trouble, he takes what he can (in this case, the Royal Fleet) and flees. Because he has the Royal Fleet of Westeros, he’s on an island, and the other two navies (Ironborn + Redwynes) are fighting one another it’s unlikely Westeros has the means to bring him to justice. Maybe there is a 3rd path in the Game of Thrones: run away.
